Here are some pictures from my business trip to Switzerland in
June 2004. I went to Saint Prex, Switzerland for two weeks to test and
implement Sarbanes-Oxley compliant security policies for my company's Peoplesoft
EnterpriseOne ERP system. I stayed mainly in Morges and was able to
visit a few other towns. Everything was French in this canton of
Switzerland. I learned some greetings and simple phrases...most
importantly, how to order the special on the menu and how to ask for the bill.
Anyway, I learned that football (soccer) is a huge sport in Europe.
Everyone watched the Euro2004 soccer games nightly. When their team won,
they cheer in the streets and drive around honking like crazy (and even when
their team lost!!). To participate in the local flavors,
I had cheval (horse) for dinner one night (it had a lot of seasoning and a
different texture), and then cow tongue (ok until the last slice...the end of
the tongue...mind over matter). The project was successful (thankfully)
and it was good meet everyone for the regular project support.
